Canine named Chester buys apartment, sparks controversy in Iran

In a tail-wagging twist, a real estate escapade in Iran is making headlines for selling a home to a most discerning buyer: a canine named Chester.

Iranian media had a field day reporting this canine condo caper after a video went viral. The footage showcases a childless Iranian couple, waving goodbye to their property as they sign over ownership to Chester, who seals the deal with an artistic paw print in ink, according to The Jerusalem Post.

While the specifics of this transaction remain fuzzy, it legitimately happened and the authorities are certainly not amused. They’ve pounced on the situation, resulting in the arrest of the realtor involved and the closure of his company by court order.

Iranian deputy prosecutor general Reza Tabar chimes in, as cited by the Iranian judiciary’s website Mizan Online, the sale of an apartment to a dog is an act with no legal basis and attempts to “normalize the violation of society’s moral values.”
