Free Public Events – Hood River & The Dalles
These conversations focus on talking about end of life (=EOL) and death. The goals are:
To destigmatize talking about these inevitable topics.
To spark curiosity and connection, to become more death literate.
To use the cards of “The Death Deck” (TheDeathDeck.com) or “The EOL Deck” to inspire reflection and conversation.
To learn more about local Gorge and general resources.
To meet new people and have an interesting and fun evening.
HOOD RIVER:
When: 3rd Thursday (March 16th, April 20th, May 18th, 2023) 6 PM – 8 PM
Where: Crush Cider Café, (CrushCiderCafe.com) 1020 Wasco St, Hood River, OR 97031, meeting room, enter from the West side of the building in the back.
THE DALLES:
When: 4th Tuesday (March 28th, May 23rd, 2023) 6 PM – 8 PM
Where: Cousins’ Country Inn, (CousinsRestaurants.com) 2114 W 6th St, The Dalles, OR 97058, Banquet Room
6:00-6:30 PM Arrive, mingle, order food and drink.
6:30-7:30 PM Brief introductions, end of life and death themed conversations, organizer or participants may suggest topics.
7:30 – 8:00 PM Reflections, closure.
What these events are not:
A bereavement support or grief counseling group
A caregiver or illness specific support group
An official Death Cafe or Death over Dinner event
A lecture series or a business networking event
