The Muddy Souls with Skillethead opening!
The Muddy Souls are a 5-piece, progressive bluegrass band formed in Eugene, Oregon in 2018. Their ever growing sound is a beautifully fresh take on an age old genre of music. Having four different songwriters and singers in the band, their sound encompasses a wide variety of influences. Traditional bluegrass, folk, jam and improvisational music, and jazz just to name a few. Their uniquely crafted songs and thought provoking lyrics are showcased on their recently released, third studio album, entitled “The Raven”. They are taking the Pacific Northwest bluegrass scene by storm, and they are currently working on material for a 4th studio album.”
SKILLETHEAD
Setting roots in the high and dry Central Oregon desert, Skillethead calls forth the best of bluegrass old and new. They ground themselves firmly in the bluegrass traditions of driving fiddle tunes, layered harmonies, and single mics, all the while weaving in inspiration and originality gleaned from genres far and wide. You can expect to hear a Stanley Brothers number right alongside a stirring original or a rollicking rock cover done in Skillethead’s own unique fashion. The spectrum reaches far and wide, the bluegrass universe is expanding, and Skillethead is on that ride!
The brain child of late night jams and carrot picking daydreams, Skillethead was christened in the spring of 2019 by friends and longtime musical revelers Joe Schulte, Benji Nagel, and Garrett Miller. “I do believe we should start a band” someone said, and thus it was so. With the additions of bass/vocal powerhouse Aaron Moore and fiddle maestro Casey Willis, Skillethead is now a bona fide tour-de-force bluegrass machine.
